Is this a real Maasai shuka?
Yes — the same cloth sold and worn in Kenya, bought here and sent to you. We are not going to pretend each one is hand-loomed in a village if it is not. Where we can describe exactly how a cloth was made, it says so on its page.
What size is it?
Roughly 150 by 200 centimetres, one size. It is worn wrapped, so there is no fit to get wrong — which is also why we launched with shukas rather than sandals.
Do you ship to my country?
Kenya and the UK at launch, EU and US next. If you are somewhere else, message us. If we can get it to you reliably we will say yes, and if we cannot we will say no rather than take your money and hope.
Can I pay with M‑Pesa?
Yes, inside Kenya. From abroad: Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Will I be charged anything on delivery?
Possibly import VAT plus a handling fee if you are in the UK or EU. There is no customs duty — Kenyan cloth enters both duty-free under trade agreements, and we declare origin properly. VAT is separate and it belongs to the buyer.
Will the colour run?
It can, the first time. Cold hand wash on its own, dry in the shade. After that it settles.
Can I return it?
Within 14 days, unused and unwashed. Return postage is yours and it is slow from abroad — worth knowing before you order two to compare.
Do you do wholesale?
Not yet. If you run a shop and want several, message us and we will talk properly rather than invent a price list we cannot honour.
Can I have a discount?
No. The price is set close enough to the bone that discounting it would mean cutting what we pay for the cloth.
Who is behind this?
One person in Nakuru, Kenya. Not a warehouse, not a drop-shipper. That is rather the point.
When are the beaded sandals coming?
After the shukas are working properly. Sandals need sizing, and a wrong size coming back from London to Nakuru costs more than the sandals do. They will arrive with a proper measurement guide, not a guess.

On this draft, no — they are art direction, generated to show how the shop should look. Before launch every photograph will be of the real stock, shot in Nakuru.
